I'm Too Free To Have Vihals, Brno 2023
installation, 3 photos 21 × 29 cm, hand-shaped clay hooks, cardboard floor with marks, cardboard slippers 6 pairs, clay fireplace, charcoal drawing on wall
"It's like a emptiness, but not empty." Jacques Lacan
The work explores nomadism and the persistent anxiety of living without stable roots. It begins with the subtle presence of objects that signal an impending move, some traces of a life that is never fully settled.
Moving boxes become the central motif: a constant that accompanies us, often remaining packed rather than integrated into the space. They function as silent reminders of temporariness, suggesting that the act of inhabiting is always provisional.
At the same time, the work reflects a desire to settle, even if only briefly. Each box carries its own narrative through its label, a fragment of personal history tied to movement and transition.
The image of the fireplace appears as a memory or projection: a naïve yet persistent symbol of warmth, stability, and collective gathering. Through photography, text, and spatial elements, the installation constructs an environment that feels empty at first glance, yet is composed of traces, absences, and potential presences.
